Mei Mei
Mei Mei was a little girl who lived in a small village surrounded by green hills and bright flowers. She loved to draw pictures of everything she saw — butterflies, trees, rivers, and even the smiling faces of her friends.
One day, her school announced a drawing competition. The topic was “My Beautiful Village.” Mei Mei was excited but also nervous. She had only a few old crayons left, and some were broken.
That evening, her grandmother noticed her sadness and said gently,
“True art doesn’t come from crayons, Mei Mei. It comes from your heart.”
Encouraged by those words, Mei Mei began to draw. She used her imagination to fill her picture with joy — the blue sky, the sparkling river, the laughing children, and her grandmother watering the plants.
When the results were announced, Mei Mei didn’t win the first prize. But everyone clapped for her drawing because it showed love and happiness. Her teacher smiled and said,
“Mei Mei, you have an artist’s heart.”
From that day, Mei Mei promised herself to keep drawing — not for prizes, but for the happiness it brought to her and others.
Moral: True talent comes from the heart, not from what we have. ❤️
